This website has been developed as a repository for my personal collection of academic papers and other writing on a wide range of subjects which are of interest to me and which hopefully may also be of interest to a wider digital audience.
The collection spans the six decades of my professional career in surgery and academia from the early 1980s to the present time.
My experience in writing and publishing spans the epochal transition from the analogue print era, when published articles often gathered dust in bound volumes on select university library shelves; to the modern era of immediate search and discovery for a globally diverse readership across the internet.
I have subdivided the collection into categories which reflect my career themes:
- As a General Surgeon in the UK National Health Service since the 1980s;
- As a Surgeon to the UK Defence Medical Services Reserve;

- In the Editing of the European Journal of Surgical Oncology from 1996 to 2009
- As the Subject Chair for Medicine for the SCOPUS Content Selection Advisory Board since 2009
The ePrint format of this website permits the assembly of a comprehensive collection of personal writings in themes which would not otherwise be possible, along with a whimsical collection of writing, including correspondence in the national and international print media.
